VIEL & Cie is an investment company listed in France.
Its strategy is to invest for the long term in companies operating in the financial sector. This strategy is designed to speed up their growth and development and make them leaders in their areas of business. We are therefore a major shareholder in both listed and unlisted companies.

The Group consolidates two majority interests in listed companies and one equity-accounted minority interest in a private bank. These three core businesses consist of:

• interdealer broking, through Compagnie Financière Tradition, listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, in which VIEL & Cie holds a 67.45% controlling interest. This segment
represents 96.9% of the Group’s consolidated turnover,
• online trading, through Bourse Direct, listed on NYSE Euronext Paris (Compartment C), in which the Group has a 66.57% controlling interest,
• SwissLife Banque Privée, a private bank in which VIEL & Cie holds a 40% interest in partnership with the SwissLife Group.

VIEL & Cie's reported consolidated turnover from its operating subsidiaries of €922.6 million in 2009.
